The Group
Conserve Italia Group represents one of Europe’s largest agri-food industries. It is an Italian company, which is part of Confcooperative (Confederazione Co-operative Italiane), a co-operative organisation that brings together over 14,000 farmers. Over the past 30 years Conserve Italia Group has built its international position through external growth with acquisitions of companies in France (Conserves France), the United Kingdom (Mediterranean Growers), Spain (Juver) and Germany (Warburger). Today the Group has a leading position in the European preserved fruit and vegetable markets, both in terms of turnover and raw material processing.
The success of the group, with leading market positions in beverages (fruit juices, nectars and fruit drinks) and canned fruit, vegetables and tomato based products, is closely linked to the company’s mission statement and sales strategy: “To be a leader in European markets for processed fruit and vegetables, focusing on brands, so as to create more added value to the fruit and vegetables grown by the Group’s associated farmers.”
Conserve Italia brings together 48 co-operative associations with more than 14,000 associated farmes. Over 600,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables are received and processed by the group and the entire supply chain from seed to finished product is 100% controlled, meaning that the products are of the highest quality.
The Group’s turnover in 2019/20 financial year of 841 million euro is testimony to its undisputed leadership position. The day-to-day work of the farmers, the commitment of the technicians during the harvest and production process, the quality controls all along the supply chain activity, right up to reaching the retail outlets, guarantee the group’s supremacy in producing top quality products. That is what is expected of “Nature's leader”.
